Pediatric Exam and Adjustment

A first time pediatric appointment usually takes 30 minutes. We perform a thorough physical exam, chiropractic exam, x-rays if necessary, and adjustment same day. Visits can also include physiotherapy, home care education, and referral to other providers if needed. We bring the same level of care, thoroughness, and precision to our pediatric patients as we do our adults.
Class 4 Laser Therapy
$50
A first time class 4 laser appointment usually takes 20 minutes. We perform a physical exam and therapy session. Later session times are determined by the treatment area. It is a safe, non-invasive medical treatment that uses high-power light beams to reduce pain and speed up healing in deep tissues. It has made tremendous difference in shortening treatment plans for our chronic pain cases.
Focused Exam and Adjustment

This is the type of appointment after you have been seen as a Pediatric New Patient. This type of visit usually takes 10 minutes. The doctor performs a full chiropractic exam and adjustment.

What is the Gonstead Chiropractic Method?
How Gonstead Chiropractic Works
The Gonstead chiropractic method begins with a fundamental principle: the pelvis is the foundation of the spine. Just as a building requires a level base to remain structurally stable, the spine requires a level pelvic foundation to maintain proper alignment above it. When the pelvic girdle becomes misaligned, it sets off a chain reaction of compensations throughout the entire spinal column.
These misalignments place uneven pressure on the discs between vertebrae, which can cause them to swell or protrude. When a misaligned vertebra compresses the nerves running through that area, the result is what chiropractors call a subluxation. Because the nervous system regulates every organ, tissue, and cell in the body, the effects of a subluxation extend far beyond where the pain is felt, affecting function throughout the entire body.
The Gonstead method is specifically designed to locate and correct these subluxations with the highest possible level of precision.
The Five-Point Gonstead Analysis
What distinguishes the Gonstead method from most other methods is the depth of analysis that takes place before any adjustment is made. Every patient at Family Chiropractic receives a thorough evaluation using five specific diagnostic criteria:

Visualization: Your provider assesses your posture and movement patterns for subtle imbalances that indicate underlying spinal problems

Instrumentation (Nervoscope): This instrument detects uneven heat distribution along the spine, a reliable indicator of nerve pressure and inflammation

Static Palpation: The provider checks for swelling, tenderness, and abnormal tissue texture at rest, identifying areas of nerve interference

Motion Palpation: The spine is evaluated through its full range of motion to identify which segments move freely and which are restricted

X-Ray Analysis: Full-spine radiographs taken in a standing, weight-bearing position provide a complete structural picture, revealing disc integrity, vertebral misalignments, and the precise direction and angle needed for each correction
Together, these five data points give a complete, objective picture of exactly where the spine needs to be corrected and how.

After completing the five-point analysis, the certified Gonstead chiropractor delivers an adjustment that is specific, precise, and targeted only at the verified subluxation.
